Chelsea V Man U
Ref fooked-up a great game,Dermot Gallagher (retired ref) has just said when the red card came out he thought it was for Evans, but that would have been wrong as he was not the last man,he then sent off Torres

Yer, the blindsman wasn't much better allowing the last goal, similar at the Everton/Liverpool game.

Always wondered why they have a fourth offical behind the goal on the blindmans side of the park so I found this (don't laugh) from a ref
A question I have had posed on many occasions is why are the extra goal line officials are on the same side as the assistant referees? I just don't see the sense in it. I caught up with my pal Howard Webb and found out the answer. It's a bit technical and something that referees reading will appreciate but hopefully it will make some sense to others as well.

Basically having them on the other side of the goal seems more logical, but during the experimental stages of using them it was confusing referees as they have always operated a diagonal system of patrol that has the assistant referees in their line of vision at all times with them covering the left hand side of the pitch opposite to the lino.

Having the extra man on their side was confusing as to utilise them efficiently they were having to change their tried and tested ways of officiating. Positioning is vital to referees. They have continued the experiment by trying out what we see now, on balance though they are likely to revert in future to having them on the other side.

I am sure that the majority that have read that paragraph are thinking "what the fook", but I know what I mean, I think!!!
