I got one today, i havent installed it yet but i am curious about the pin on the side next to the usb & ethernet lead.
I am wondering if there is supposed to be a power lead inserted in order for it to work.
Maybe someone can confirm this?

If your only getting FTA channels most likely the box does not have the firmware installed.
Reinstall firmware

I HAVE TO USE VONETS WI FI BRIDGE SINCE THE ROUTER IS UPSTAIRS AND ETHERNET CABLE WONT REACH DOWNSTAIRS.

WHEN YOU SAY REBOOT BOX, DO YOU MEAN I SHOULD UPLOAD CARLING 1.02 FROM USB AGAIN?

LET ME KNOW DUDE AND I WILL DO IT RIGHT AWAY..........I CANT BE FAR OFF, JUST MISSING THE INTERNET SIGNAL, DONE EVERY THING SAME AS SV6.

Not a problem as SV 6 Firmware will work on SV 7 at the moment,

From the main player at Starview,
"Starview 7 has been released and supersedes the Starview 6 model which is no longer in production
things move on and technology changes

there is not much difference between models just the network port has been made external ..

The unit will work on sv6 or 7 software so you wont blow it up by loading wrong files and support will continue for both models 6, 7, and combo units"..

HI JONPC, YOU SOUND LIKE YOU KNOW WHAT YOUR TALKING ABOUT.

JUST CHECKED MY SYSTEM INFO, IT IS THE SAME AS 'TOURIST';

SW : CARLING-1.01-UKC (Aug17)
LDR:01.13 (0909)
HW:IRM-1.00-IR-300-8-0
RAM:32MB, ROM 2MB (071%) EK
01.56

I ALSO HAVE THE FIRMWARE FOR SV6 ON THE SAME USB, DO YOU THINK I SHOULD UPLOAD THE SV6 FIRMWARE INTO SV7??

ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED.

No the firmware on the box is OK

Try rebooting both internet and box.
also
If you have a sub box (a VM box you pay for) check the ID,
From box -- press the up/down at the some time
From remote -- TV Guide - Settings - Tech Info - Network ID = ?????
Rescan using the same ID as on your sub box.
Does your Starview 6 box work,as you say the SV 6 firmware is on a USB stick

DONT HAVE THE SV6 ANYMORE, MY MATES GOT IT, THATS WORKING FINE.

RIGHT, JUST DONE FACT DELETE, AUTO SCAN, NETWORK USTREAM, 8989 = EMULATOR EVERYTHING IS TURNED ON.

SET THE VONETS WI FI BRIDGE WITH LAPTOP AGAIN - TELLS ME IT IS SUCCESSFUL.

LINKED THE VONETS TO THE M/F PINS, LINKED THE M/F TO EXTRNAL ETHERNET PORT AT BACK OF SV7.

GONE TO CHANNEL $............. STILL SAYING 'NOT CONNECTED'

REALY DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO WITH THIS SV7, I MUST BE MISSING THE POINT SOMEWHERE.......

Forget about the bridge and connect using a ethernet cable for the moment, becaue it sounds like its the bridge or ethernet cable side of things.

i would have thought it would have to be sv7 firmware on a sv7 as every model made has its own firmware, and this box has a dongle and sv6 has a lan port.
checked else where and told not the same and using wrong file may damage boxes.

As before, use an ethernet cable, check sub box for Net ID as some have change since Nag3.
